The Purpose

MOdernize and rebuild the website including all franchise network micro-sites to enhance UX and content management.

Home Instead needed a complete redo on the entire web ecosystem to align with their new branding and ever growing success. I was charged with developing a new web design system and all page designs. Working from existing brand guidelines I developed 3 stylescape concepts in order to showcase possibilites and get executive sign off on the new website design direction.

Site Analysis & User Research

I conducted thorough analysis and user testing of the current website, encompassing various methods such as initial impressions, brand recall, task completion, decision-making, user preferences, surveys, and much more. Comprehensive documentation of the extensive research and analysis can be provided upon request.

Dataflow & Wireframes

With 2 different primary CTAs and hundreds of franchise pages, it was extremely important to ensure the userflow was carefully planned out for every touchpoint. Once the primary user flow was established I ensured every page strategically lead into the appropriate step in the flow.

Stylescape

An innovative approach to visualizing brand elements that were then refined in the design phase for the new website. Using a stylescape allowed me to showcase design concepts that allowed stakeholders to grasp the core design concept without being distracted by mock page designs.

Design System

With design direction approved I then focused on building a maticulious design system that would be the foundation for the new website design. User testing was done with earlier design mockups to gain insight into user preferences as well as pain points.

In addition to creating the design system, I also crafted a comprehensive component library that empowered the development team to swiftly create new elements, blocks, sections, and pages, all while maintaining a consistent design and layout. This innovative approach facilitated the seamless integration of these components into the new CMS system, Optimizely, resulting in an accelerated content loading process
